Church Governance
The Celtic Witan Church is governed by its Board of Directors, in accordance with its charter as a California non profit organization, 501 (c) (3) . We refer to our Board as our ‘Council of Elders’.
Meetings of the entire Board occur annually, during the season of Samhain. Church officers are elected for the coming year, The Church status is reported to the Board, policies may be updated, and amendments to the Church charter and by-laws may be proposed and voted upon.
Other meeting of the Council of Elders my be called during the year with special topics, as needed.
Congregation Governance
The various individual congregations are governed within the individual coven by their respective High Priest and/or High Priestess via majority vote by members.
If the an individual coven is unable to resolve an issue the matter may be referred to the Council of Elders for final decision.
